I hope you had a lovely January. I gave myself some time to refresh and reflect about the future of this blog. I promised myself to post at least once a week! 🤞🏿🙂
I spent my January listening to new music, watching Disney movies and trying out a 500 piece puzzle. I want to highlight my current obsessions every month. These monthly favorite posts will include beauty products, movies, books, apps and of course music!
Lupin
If you love heist series like Money Heist then Lupin should be on your radar. I finished this French mystery thriller series in an afternoon and immediately recommended it to my friends. Lupin is about Assane Diop, the son of a Senegalese immigrant in Paris, plotting to avenge his father’s death. Diop is a clever mastermind who steals an expensive diamond necklace from The Louvre to get revenge on the family that caused his father’s death. I need part 2 right now!
I Want To Kill You by Citizen
Let’s talk about this new Citizen song! “I Want To Kill You” by Citizen is the lead single for Citizen’s upcoming album titled Life In Your Glass World. My about me page is literally me in a Citizen shirt so any Citizen song is an automatic favourite. I love this sound and cannot wait for the album to be released. On 26th March 2021, I will be listening to nothing but Citizen.
Seize the Power by Yonaka
Yonaka, a British rock band from Brighton, released their new song last week and I have been obsessed. “Seize the Power” is different from their other songs but still has that Yonaka touch. The band has not announced an album release date but I cannot wait for their second studio album.
Drew Gooden’s Youtube Channel
I have been enjoying commentary channels on Youtube and Drew Gooden’s channel is my favourite. I spent my entire January watching his videos and I laugh every second. Drew created the iconic “road work ahead? I sure hope it does!” vine. If you want to laugh and learn at the same time, be sure to subscribe to his channel.
The Sound Of My Voice by The Naked and Famous
I start my morning playing this song by The Naked and Famous. I do not know how to explain it but this song calms me down. The lyrics are super sad as the song is about depression but Xayalith’s soft voice as she sings “follow / the sound of my voice / come back /come back to me” tears me up because how beautiful is her voice?
