I love makeup! If you knew me in 2018, you’d definitely remember my vibrant eyeshadow looks. I was all about bright blue eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. Occasionally, I’d mix it up with green shades too. As the years passed, my love for makeup remained, but my style evolved. Now, I gravitate towards a more natural, subtle look, though I still bring out my bold blue eyes for special occasions. Sadly, my favorite products, like the Marc Jacobs gel blue eyeliner and YSL blue mascara, are no longer available, so I’ve been exploring new options!
I thought I would dedicate this post to highlight some beauty products I am eager to try that will help improve my everyday natural makeup. If you have ever tried the below products, do let me know if they are worth it and if they do work for dark skin!
Merit Blush
I adore blush. Back in 2018, I started with ColourPop’s pressed powder blush, but it didn’t suit my skin. The pigment appeared extremely chalky and the product itself dried up after two months!! I then tried Rare Beauty’s blush and fell in love with the shade Faith. Sadly, it’s time to find a new favorite as my Rare Beauty blush has run out. I tried the Elf orange blush, but it looks pink on my skin. Recently, I discovered Merit blushes! Their simple applicator is perfect for avoiding the mess of liquid blushes like Glossier’s. The creamy texture of Merit blush is ideal for my everyday makeup.
Tower 28 Beauty
I recently tried Tower 28’s mascara and fell in love. It’s my current top pick, and the cute, bright packaging makes it easy to spot in my makeup bag. Loving their mascara has sparked my interest in exploring more of their products. Still undecided which product exactly but will be looking into the makeup brand.
Bobbi Brown Makeup Brushes
My current brushes are from Elf, Fenty Beauty, and NYX, but I’m ready to experiment. Bobbi Brown’s brushes have caught my eye. As a huge fan of Bobbi Brown, I’m excited to slowly incorporate more of their products into my collection.
Jones Road Beauty
When Bobbi Brown left her eponymous brand in 2016 and launched Jones Road in 2020, I became a silent follower. The brand’s clean, no-makeup look is perfect for my everyday work makeup. After the Jones Road foundation went viral, I’m considering giving it a try, despite my concerns about the application process. It just looks messy to apply! I’m also drawn to their apparel, thanks to the stylish font design.
Stay tuned as I continue sharing my makeup journey, I will be trying and sharing new products that catch my eye. Whether you’re into bold looks or natural elegance, there’s always something exciting to discover in the world of beauty!
